Sea Kayaking in Arisaig

The west coast of the Scottish Highlands is absolutely stunning! Arisaig is one of our favourite places to go for a paddle, with clear seas and beautiful white sandy beaches. We went for our first paddle of the summer last week and had a fab day in Arisaig! It was a bit breezy, but we still had lots of fun in the sun exploring the coastline and we can’t wait to go back! 🙂

Clear seas and white sandy beaches!

Arisaig is a village in Lochaber on the sheltered shore of Loch nan Ceall and lies at the southern end of The Silver Sands of Morar. It is just an hour’s drive from Blythedale House heading towards Mallaig, so you also pass through Glenfinnan on your way. This pretty wee village does offer a couple shops and restaurants or you can continue on to Mallaig for Fish & Chips after a long paddle!

If you don’t have your own kayaks, the Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre offer full or half day trips to explore the beautiful Arisaig coastline for beginners or experienced paddlers. You won’t be disappointed, we’ve been on guided tours with them and had amazing adventures! Their team of guides are experts at crafting fun sea kayaking trips – judging the sea, organising the journey, imparting knowledge and insight, developing your skill whilst keeping you safe. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen too, such as seals and otters, or if you’re really lucky dolphins, porpoises, whales or sea eagles.
